Reson8ED is our community Theatre-In-Education programme bringing exciting and innovative ways of learning to children of all ages.

Mathemagics are a series of plays written to support Key Stage 1& 2 Maths. They bring to life a range of characters stuck in a variety of mathematical dilemma's. The audience must assist the characters by taking on board the tips, tricks and rules they are given along the way. Hopefully, with the help of the audience, the characters will solve the problems they come across, and the audience should learn some interesting facts along the way too. Mathemagics is an exciting and interactive way to help children see that Maths is Fun.

With each KS2 performance there will be a Physical Maths workshop available. This consists of a variety of Maths exercises of which three can be chosen to suit the children taking part. The exercises will be based on the topic of the play and involve an amalgamation of physical drama and mental mathematics.

The first play in the Mathemagics series is The Mathemagical Maze. This brings to life a range of Problem Solving dilemma's which the audience help to solve. And with help from various characters within the maze, the audience may learn some interesting tips and tricks too!

When Sam stays at her cousin Will's house, things don't quite go to plan. After they unknowingly call the "Number Crunchers" they are taken to the House Of Infinity where they will be forced to count forever. Their only hope is to escape the house and brave the "Mathemagical Maze" but nothing is quite what it seems. With a variety of bizarre characters and Maths at every turn, there is something for all KS2 ages and abilities. Problem Solving dilemma's include: Consecutive Numbers, Multiplication and Missing Digits.

Our brand new play has been written specially for Key Stage 1 pupils and mixes fun characters and song with plenty of Maths tips and tricks.

"Little Shop Of Numbers" is set in a small grocery shop run by Mr and Mrs Price. On this particular day they decide it is time for a good clean. Everything needs dusting, and the goods need sorting out and tidying up. At the same time, it is business as usual and a variety of customers enter to do their shopping. But sometimes even the shopping can bring about unexpected Maths problems. With problems including: Shape, Sequences, Addition and Data Handling, there is something for all ages and abilities. There is plenty of audience participation too.
